This series saw overwhelming community support all summer long as we shared immersive cultural experiences that merge art, education, science, music, and nature in unexpected ways. The Secret SaloN SERIES: In the Moss with kʷasi? Siegl

wednesday July 19th or saturday july 22nd

7:00 - 9:00 PM PST

Secret Headquarters in East Van

kʷasi? will share her deep connection with the natural world during this evening of ancestral wisdom and cultural sharing. With a focus on healing and self empowerment, kʷasi? (which is short for kʷasəlwət and means Star Woman in the Musqueam language) will shine her light on the regalia, traditions, music and medicines of her people. Invoking the power of cedar, moss and spirit, kʷasi? will create a beautiful space for listening and reflection, and will invite participants to explore what it means to be on this land.

Tea from rhtea.co and fresh bannock will be offered. Hand-crafted medicines and jewelry by kʷasi? will be available for sale.

Tickets are available by sliding scale $15 - $30, Suggested admission $20

about the presenter

χʷəy̓χʷiq̓tən / Audrey Siegl works with teachings & medicines passed on to her from her Musqueam family & ancestors. 

She has been active on grassroots, environmental and social justice-political frontline movements. 

Though she is rooted in West Coast & Musqueam medicines, she has worked extensively across Turtle Island with many teachings & medicines.

She is proud & honoured to carry on the work of her grandparents and ancestors.

Audrey has worked on raising awareness on MMIWG, the housing crisis, the toxic supply/OD crisis, forced displacement and the connection between extractive industry and violations of FN Land & human rights. 


Getting Here: Secret Headquarters is in the 1300-block of East 3rd between Clark + McLean Drive. Bus # 22 is within walking distance; VCC Clark and Commercial Skytrain Stations are within 10 minutes' walk. Free parking on the street and in the large parking lot in the alley between 3rd and 4th.
