Heartfelt thanks to all who celebrated our

31st annual winter solstice lantern festival with us!

Your participation made the longest, darkest night of the year a true delight !

The Secret Lantern Society celebrates art, culture, beauty, science, Nature, and the mysteries of illumination through our annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival and our Secret Salon Series. We love what we do and we love the humans who do it all with us!

However, behind the enchantment of artistic offerings lies a secret we have thus far been reluctant to share: Secret Lantern Society is in financial peril.

Alongside so many other arts organizations, our funding has decreased by more than 30%, while expenses have increased. These are dangerous times for even the most resilient and resourceful groups, and we are worried that our artistic ambitions to create delight and wonder, and our ability to engage our community in meaningful ways, will be tragically and irreparably diminished by this financial hardship.

The amazing public participation in our recent festival has reinvigorated my commitment to this beautiful community and our shared celebration of all cultures, and I sincerely hope you will support Secret Lantern with a donation of any amount you can spare. And that you will join together with us on future solstice nights to dispel the darkness with music, lanterns, dancing, joy and generosity for generations to come!
